| 説明 | Built in 1901, this Renaissance Revival and Chinese-style building was designed by Oliver G. Traphagan for Jos. P. Mendonca following the devastating 1900 Chinatown fire that destroyed the previous buildings on the site. The building, which stretches for a full block along Hotel Street, features a green tile bonnet roof, decorative raised parapets with ornamentation, a bracketed cornice with dentils and egg and dart motif, decorative red brick surrounds at the windows, stucco cladding, one-over-one double-hung windows, retail spaces at ground level, and a corrugated metal canopy. The building is a contributing structure in the Chinatown Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973. |
