| 説明 | “The European Parliament mourns the loss of a president, a gentleman, a great European, and a passionate believer in the power of politics to improve lives”, said President Metsola, remembering Lord Henry Plumb who passed away on 15 April.Lord Plumb became a member of the European Parliament in 1979, the year of the first European elections, and was President from January 1987 to July 1989. In 1987, spearheading the expansion of Parliament’s powers, he was the first EP President to address the European Council.
