| 説明 | Built in 1911, this Queen Anne-style building housed the Grand United Order of Odd Fellows, an African-American fraternal order. The building features a red brick exterior, decorative cornice, pilasters at either end of the front facade, recessed brick panels, a gabled parapet with a ghost sign of the former use of the building faintly visible, two commercial spaces on the first floor flanking an entrance to the second story space in the center, and five window bays on the second floor with stone lintels and sills. The building is historically significant, but for reasons of isolation from other historic buildings and lack of consideration of Black history in Danville before recent times, the building is not officially designated as such. |
