| 説明 | Built in 1879, this Italianate-style structure is the sole remaining portion of the old freight station that once stood alongside the intact passenger depot, and was built for the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad, also known as the Milwaukee Road. The majority of the structure was demolished during the redevelopment of the former train station into The Depot Minneapolis, A Renaissance Hotel in 2001, leaving only this small head house that once housed the freight offices. The small buff brick building features a rusticated limestone base, two-over-two double-hung windows, decorative window and door headers made from limestone, a projecting central bay, and brick corbels at the base of the parapet. Now home to a small coffee shop, the building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978 alongside the adjacent passenger depot. |
