| 説明 | The Mysterious Bunyip. Does this mythical South Australian creature actually exist? It does according to locals in Koolunga who reported sightings of the river creature in both 1880 and 1883. Dynamite was used in 1883 to try and capture one but without success!! A local girl described a Bunyip as like a seal or a dog without a tail. Because of the sightings the Koolunga Hotel serves Bunyip steak and the local park on the edge of the Broughton River is called Bunyip Park. There was further report of Bunyip sightings, by six different people in a week period of 1889. There have been no recent sightings. Some Aboriginal groups in Australia (not just SA) have mythical creatures called bunyips, with devil like attributes in their mythologies. Bunyips are more usually linked to the Murray River (sightings at Moorundie in 1847 were recorded) and Murray Bridge has a Bunyip roaring in a cavern in the town. |
