| 説明 | One of the glories of the Roman Empire, Leptis Magna lies on the Libyan coast, to the east of Tripoli and due south from Malta. It was the birthplace of Emperor Severus, who lavished huge amounts of money redeveloping its docklands and downtown forum. During the regency, the Bashaw of Tripolitania, Yusuf Karamanli, decided to give the future George IV some bits of Leptis Magna, for some reason. Jeffry Wyattville, the architect of the remodelled Windsor Castle, was tasked with setting them up in the Great Park in a way that would ensure that the passage of time would make them look more "ruinous". |
