| 説明 | The chestnut munia (Lonchura atricapilla), also known as black-headed munia, is a small passerine bird. This estrildid finch is a resident breeding bird native to southeastern Asia, but introduced to numerous areas including the Hawaiian Islands, Japan, Ecuador, and Jamaica. Before 1995, it was the national bird of the Philippines, where it is known as mayang pula ("red maya") because of its brick red patch on the lower back which is visible only when it flies. (This distinguishes it from other birds locally called maya, notably the predominantly brownish "mayang simbahan" (tree sparrow) which is more common in urban areas. Often seen in flocks, common in rice fields, grassland and open country. but not normally seen in urban areas. However, approximately 50 of these birds often reside in my garden.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chestnut_munia |
