| 説明 | Welcome to California August - smoke haze everywhere. Wasn't like this growing up except in 1977 (now every summer is like 1977). Due to last summer's failure of "monsoon" moisture from Mexico, followed by a very dry winter, every California forest is bone dry fuel ready to explode when sparked. Forests like this one just have to luck out and endure the wait for winter rains and snows. This trip was made a delight thanks to the monsoons that came through here in July. More are expected later this August. These summer storms that bring downpours to the mountains, when they are wet enough, can save summer! |
