The NRM has a second, lesser known exhibition at Shildon near Darlington.Shildon is steeped in railway history, The world's first passenger journey ran between Shildon and Darlington in 1825, and the journey took 2 hours.Trains still run between the two towns today, though the journey time is much quicker.
