He was stricken with a stroke that night before the show, and died.Cary Grant was in Davenport, Iowa, to give a talk at the Adler Theater when he was stricken ill with a stroke. He was taken from his room 907 in the Blackhawk Hotel about at about 9:15 p.m. Saturday, November 29, 1986 with his wife, Barbara Harris, at his side.
