Planted in 2020.Hydrangea macrophylla 'SMHMTAU' is a mophead type that was bred by Timothy D. Wood of Spring Meadow Nursery in Grand Haven, Michigan. It is compact, upright, and outwardly spreading. It has a mounded habit, strong stems.... blah blah blah. More important to northern gardeners is that it is remontant (blooms on new wood). It can be “blued” with aluminum sulfate.
