| 説明 | Two months after Hurricane Sandy knocked their transmitters off the air, WMCA/570 and WNYC/820, two AM radio stations that share the same facility, were still in mid-repairs on the transmitter building, while the catwalks out to the three towers they share was still destroyed. The building and towers went up in 1940, when the land itself was a tidal swamp, but firm enough to walk and build on. Later the area was flooded for some reason. It lies next to the Hackensack River, which is also tidal in this stretch. I shot this series from a moving bus, on my way between Baltimore and New York. |
