| 説明 | Syringa x prestoniae 'James Macfarlane' 'Lilac' 5/2021 Preston Lilac- (Yeager, 1959) Preston Lilac, Mature size: 10x8’, Pink, Fragrant, USDA Hardiness Zone 3, Michigan Bloom Month 6b, In Garden Bed N3,06 & N3,10 for 6.8 YEARS (Lowes,). Planted in 2014.Oregon State University: Deciduous shrub, to 8-10 ft tall x 6-8 ft wide (2.4-3 x 1.8-2.5 m), upright. Flowers rosy-purple buds open to single pink flowers in large pyramidal clusters (panicles), mild fragrance. Sun. Has excellent mildew resistance. Hardy to USDA Zone 3. Introduced in 1959 by Albert F. Yeager (1892-1961) of the University of New Hampshire. It is the result of a cross of S. ×josiflexa 'Royalty' × an unknown. The cultivar name is often misspelled (e.g., James MacFarlane). James Macfarlane: (1846-1950), Horticulturist at the University on New Hampshire (1915-1949).Flowers after normal lilac. Will grow to 10 feet tall at maturity, with a spread of 8 feet. It tends to be a little leggy, ~3 bare feet from the ground. Can live for 30 years. Planted 2014.Photo by F.D.Richards, SE Michigan.
