| 説明 | c/n 2400Built in March 1942 for the US Navy with the Bureau No. 5909She was first allocated to the South Dakota class battleship ‘USS Indiana’ (BB-58), on which she served from April to December 1942 and again from March 1944 to August 1944. From the summer of 1945 until the spring of 1947 she was based at NAS Norfolk, Virginia, and was then allocated to the ‘National Air Museum’ and stored. She was officially transferred to the Smithsonian Institute in October 1960 and was moved to Silver Hill, Maryland, in 1965. In July 1968 she was loaned to the USS Massachusetts Battleship memorial in Fall River, Massachusetts, returning to Silver Hill in December 1980. A complete restoration took from 1983 to 1988 after which she went on display at the Palm Springs Air Museum, California where she remained from 1997 to 2002.She is seen on display in the Steven F.
