| 説明 | Pegmatitic chrome-diopsidite ("Yakut emerald") from the Cretaceous of Russia. (cut & polished surface; ~10.5 centimeters across at its widest)This rare rock comes from a gem mining operation near Aldan in Siberia, Russia. The material is chrome diopside (chromian diopside), a chromium-rich variety of pyroxene, Ca(Mg,Cr)Si2O6 - calcium magnesium chromium silicate. It comes from a pegmatitic chrome-diopsidite "vein" (dike) intruding dunites at the core of the Inagli Complex, a Cretaceous-aged, alkaline, ultramafic igneous intrusion. "Chrome-diopside" is the name of the mineral; "chrome-diopsidite" is the name of the ~monomineralic rock having that mineral.Geologic unit: Inagli Complex (Inagli Massif), Early Cretaceous, ~132 Ma (published dates range from 129-136 Ma)Locality: gem quarry at the Inagli Deposit, 29 kilometers west-southwest of the town of Aldan, Siberia, Russia (58° 32' 10.77" North latitude, 124° 54' 50.45" East longitude)---------------------------------------------------Photo gallery of chrome-diopside:www.mindat.org/gallery.php?min=1033---------------------------------------------------Photo gallery of Inagli field shots & specimens:www.mindat.org/gallery.php?loc=216419---------------------------------------------------Info. on the Inagli Deposit:Mues-Schumacher et al.
