Shields retired March 26, 2021, after 36 years of Federal civilian service during a small ceremony at USASMDC headquarters at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama. Shields began his service in 1985 as an Army Material Command (AMC) intern at the U.S. Army Missile Command (USAMICOM). He has served in a wide variety of financial management assignments during his government service, transferring to USASMDC (then U.S. Army Strategic Defense Command) in 1989. |
