| 説明 | This photo was taken in a tiny Palestinian village called Qawawis in the South Hebron Hills. Qawawis is a beautiful and peaceful Palestinian community surrounded by illegal Israeli settlment outposts, a military base, an illegal Israeli settlement and a settler only bypass road. The community left and sought refuge in the nearby town of Yatta in mid 2000 after illegal Israeli settlers established two communities on the hilltops in the area and frequently came into Qawawis, harrassing and threatening the local residents. In 2005, the residents of Qawawis returned home to their village, accompanied by internationals activists. The community still experiences daily 'visits' from the nearby Israeli settlers... This photo is of three generations of women, making bread. |
