| 説明 | LOCATIONTrewortha & Hawks Tors - Cornwall - UKDETAILSHappy to stay local now that we have discovered this area of Bodmin Moor to go walking. First stop was King Arthur's Bed although the access stile was broken so couldn't get really close to it. Trewortha Tor was an exceptional find for photography with some stunning granite formations, a really nice surprise. Hawk's Tor.....what can you say.....it's a seriously impressive pile of rock.....and seriously windy! We did manage to found a little nook out of the wind for lunch & soup, timed it perfectly as the sun came out for us. After lunch it got really interesting! I decided we could try to walk straight back to the car.....looks easy right.....wrong! The marshy area just kept getting deeper and deeper, fortunately it hadn't been raining so we did manage to get across.....eventually. Then there was a stream to traverse, which was harder than it should have been, then we had to skirt around a 'lake' in the farmer's gateway at the top of the field. Our car was just on the other side of the fence but there was barbed wire everywhere! Mmmm, getting stressful now! We eventually managed to get over, pretty difficult for Glennis but she did it.....very impressive. However then we found there was a 10 foot drop into a stream! Initially it looked impossible but we found a fallen bough that just about gave us a foothold to drop onto then jump to the other side. Done! Quite an achievement.....in hindsight!
