| 説明 | Vaux tombstone, discovered in the churchyard in 1983 and left there accumulating damp and moss until December 1999 when it was conserved and placed in the chancel It has a latin inscription which translates as "Here lies William Harrowden on whose soul may God have mercy Amen"It was carved c 1600 and its rough central texture indicates it would originally have had an effigy / coat of arms on top. It is believed to have been mutilated and thrown out of the church during or just after the 17c Civil War, in parliamentary times due to its aristocratic, recusant catholic and royal symbols.
