Zenith Radio Corporation's venture into watchmaking operations lasted from 1971 to 1978. Facing heavy competition and financial stress, the company sold off its money-losing Swiss watchmaking subsidiary in 1978.Zenith, the Swiss watchmaker, still exists today.
