説明 | Built circa 1815 of Coquina stone by the Huerta family, this house was later owned by Antonio Canova, whom added the attic windows to the structure, and hosted Napoleon’s nephew, Prince Napoleon Achille Murat, of France, and Ralph Waldo Emerson in the house during their visits to the city in 1827. The house later saw the addition in the late 19th Century of an ornate wooden balcony under the gable end, overlooking Bridge Street. In 1941, the house was acquired by Kenneth Dow, whom resided in it for more than four decades. Today, the house remains a private residence. |
