| 説明 | Erected in 1808 during the Second Spanish Period, the coquina pillars of the Old City Gate was built when the Cubo line of fortifications was reconstructed on the northern flank of the colonial city, running west from the adjacent Castillo San Marcos. The gate survived redevelopment of the surrounding city in the 19th Century, and today remains a major landmark at the end of St. George Street, marking the boundary between the colonial city and the newer districts to the north. |
