| 説明 | c/n 17-804Built at Leicester in early 1944 and issued to 302 ‘Polish’ squadron, Royal Air Force. At the end of May 1944 she was transferred to 329 ‘French’ squadron and flew with them over the D-Day beaches. In August 1944 she moved to 165 squadron. Post WW2 she joined the Royal Netherlands Air Force and flew with the serial ‘H-15’, seeing action in the Dutch East Indies. Grounded by an accident in 1949, she became a decoy and was later displayed on a pole at Eindhoven. She was involved in the rebuilt of MK732 in Holland and was then sold to the USA in 1995. She flew again in February 2004 and wears her genuine 329 squadron markings, exactly as she did over the D-Day beaches, except maybe a little shinier! She is seen displaying at the 2019 Wings over Houston Airshow.Ellington Airport, Houston, Texas.19th October 2019 |
