| 説明 | ROSWELL, N.M. Nov. 16-19, 2020. — U.S. Marshals-led Operation Washout led to 73 arrests, the seizure of 17 firearms and 5,955 grams of illegal narcotics. This 4-day violence reduction operation is part of a national initiative called “Triple Beam” aimed at both reducing violence and dismantling gangs in cities across the country.“The high-impact initiative represents intense effort by all area law enforcement partners who are committed to making our communities safer and to aggressively reduce violent crime,” said U.S. Marshal for the District of New Mexico, Sonya K. Chavez. “The cooperation demonstrated in this operation clearly showcases what we are capable of when we work together to safeguard and protect the public from those who endanger it.” Agencies participating in the operation included: U.S. Marshals Service; Roswell Police Department, New Mexico State Police, the Fifth Judicial District Attorneys Office, Chaves County Sheriff’s Office, Eddy County Sheriff’s Office, Lea County Sheriff’s Office, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Drug Enforcement Administration, Homeland Security Investigations, Lea County Drug Task Force and the Pecos Valley Drug Task Force (both are HIDTA initiatives), the Jal Police Department and the New Mexico Department of Probation and Parole.Photo by Shane T.
