| 説明 | The so-called ‘Lost City of the Incas’ – Machu Picchu, Peru, 27 October 2007. Construction began c.1450 by Pachacutec Inca Yupanqui as his Royal Palace and was expanded in the late 15th Century by Tupac Inca Yupanqui. It was abandoned in the 1530’s because of population decline caused by smallpox brought in by the Spanish Conquistadors and because of the disintegration of the Inca Empire as the Spanish conquests increased. Pictured is the Temple of the Condor. |
