| 説明 | This wonderful Gothic Revival building, built 1906-1937, is one of the jewels of Devon. At 300 feet long, 60 feet wide and with a Central Tower 160 feet high, it is one of the largest parish churches in the country. It is also the only monastery that has been restored for its original purposes since the Dissolution of the Monastries in the 16th century. Buckfast itself has a history stretching back more than a thousand years, and is today situated on the same site as the original stone church, in the beautiful hills of Dartmoor. Taken 25/07/2020, first time in a church for 4 months! |
