| 説明 | My attempt to photograph the recently discovered comet Neowise. This was taken at Lookout Point in Harpswell, Maine where I have taken so many sunset photos. There was much ambient light and i had a difficult time getting the comet in my view finder and in getting it in focus. I did not completely succeed in the latter. I like this one because it shows the comet in relation to the Big Dipper or Ursa Major. I could not see it with my naked eye unless I did not focus directly on it even when dark at 10:30 pm. There was a thin cloud near the comet and that is visible in the photo. It's named after NASA's Near-Earth Object Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer, otherwise known as the NEOWISE mission, which discovered it in late March. |
