| 説明 | Debout congolais was the national anthem after independence from Belgium. Mobutu removed it and it was not until Kabila senior took power that it was reinstated. For years Congo had seemed to be a figment of a cartographers imagination. Teachers along with the other Government functionaries were not paid for four years during the fighting and even today they do not receive a living wage. Despite all this they sing Debout Congolais and seem to mean it. |
