| 説明 | This elegant and sinuous representation of the God is difficult to interpret. It may be simply decorative. Dionysos was the god of conviviality, and his image was appropriate for dinning rooms. It may be an allusion to the theater of which Dionysos was the patron deity, or it may be simply mythological, an allusion to the triumph of Dionysos in which he normally rides upon, or is at least accompanied by, leopards or panthers.
