| 説明 | Baptisia 'Midnight' (Jim Ault, CBG) 2020 photo - MIDNIGHT PRAIRIE BLUES™ False Indigo Baptisia, bap-TIZZ-ee-uh aw-STRAY-liss, Mature size: 58x76", Violet with bright yellow, USDA Hardiness Zone 4, Michigan Bloom Month 5c, In Garden Bed R1 for 11.9 YEARS ( Ways). Planted in 2008.Mt.Cuba Center: Baptisia ‘Midnight’ is a large cultivar with the tallest inflorescences in the entire trial. The extreme height of the inflorescence contributes to its long, three week bloom, since it takes a longer time for the opening flowers to progress up such a tall stem. Unfortunately, ‘Midnight’ has a fairly open habit and is unable to support both its foliage flowers. The result is a very rangy looking plant, with arm-like inflorescences pointing in every direction. This cultivar was the darkest colored Baptisia when it first came on the market, but that title now belongs to ‘Royal Velvet’.Baptisia × variicolor 'Midnight'. Cross of Baptisia (B. tinctoria x B. alba) x B. australis by Dr. Jim Ault at the Chicago Botanic Garden in Glencoe, Illinois. Planted in 2008. Mt. Cuba rating 3.8Additional photos of this plant: www.flickr.com/search/?user_id=50697352%40N00&sort=da... |
