Lemon Yellow with red flares, USDA Hardiness Zone 3-8, Michigan Bloom Month 5-6, In Garden Bed R2 for 10.7 YEARS (Park ). Planted in 2009.American Peony Society: Itoh full double yellow hybrid with red flares. Seedling #A81-10. First bloomed 1986. Parentage, white lactiflora double x Reath hybrid tree. This Itoh is a large full double yellow ball with red flares, 6-8″ blooms with strong 32″ stems holding the flowers on top of the plant. Above average bloom. 30 blooms the first year of blooming size. Excellent substance. No seed or pollen. Fragrant.Peony 'Bartzella' (Roger F. Anderson, Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, 1986) is an intersectional or Itoh Intersectional. In this case a white lactiflora double crossed with a Reath hybrid tree peony. A good sized plant at almost 3 feet tall with double, fragrant, 6-8”, lemon yellow flowers with red flares and white-tipped carpels. Dark green foliage with large deeply cut leaves.
