| 説明 | Mammatus or mamma, from the Latin "mammella", (breast), for its typical shape. It is an accessory cloud that forms beneath the cumulonimbus clouds. At the bottom you can see the curved line that represents the edge of the cumulonimbus that generated this cloud. Unlike the usual clouds, which are formed by the warm air that rises, the mammatus are formed by the cold air that descends. They typically form during rains, thunderstorms and in any case in conjunction with the formation of cumulonimbus clouds.--Mammatus o mamma, dal latino "mammella", (breast), per la sua tipica forma. E' una nuvola accessoria che si forma al di sotto dei cumulonembi. In basso si può vedere la linea curva che rappresenta il bordo del cumulonembo che ha generato questa nuvola. Al contrario delle solite nuvole, che si formano per l'aria calda che sale, le mammatus si formano per l'aria fredda che scende.
