| 説明 | I am on the Ao Phang Nga National Park speedboat tour, known more popularly as the James Bond Islands tour out of Phuket, tour where we have just passed some interesting land forms on the Andaman Sea. Soon after passing an interesting conical rock (the name of which I remember having read but sadly cannot recall now), we spot some shacks in the distance. This is actually a distant view of the Ko Panyi Moslem fishing village near Phuket, In the bay sheltered from storms lies a fishing village built over the sea on stilts, with the magnificent karst mountains land forms in the background. The history of the village goes back more than 200 years when Moslem fishermen from Indonesia were looking for a new place to settle. They found Koh Panyi, which is also called Koh Panyee, which seemed to be the perfect place.Thailand. Over the years however, comercialism has set in, and the small bunch of fishermen aside, this little floating village is full of souvenir stalls and sea food restaurants. We will in fact be stopping here awhile as this is our lunch stop on this tour. Notes about the Ao Phang Nga National Park appeared earlier in this album. (see previous pictures).
