| 説明 | To be honest, i wanted to write about the latest coolest thing portland is doing. But alas, I was a little mislead (or i misread.)do any of you remember the lovejoy viaduct from the broadway bridge to NW portland before the pearl (john hausman voice) came into its own? I'm thinking back 1995ish or so. Well, the columns that supported that viaduct were adorned with murals from a polish railroad man. When the city decided to tear down the viaduct, neighbors and historias fought to save the murals. The only way to do it was to save the columns. Yes, the columns that support a bridge over land.Later, in the 21st century, the columns came out of storage and are being put on display in a courtyard of the elizabeth condos on NW 10th between everet and flanders.I guess they aren't ready to reveal the artwork yet though and i am a bit dissapointed.Sent from my phone, probably while hiding from the man. |
