| 説明 | The area in the centre of the picture was at one time simply known as "South of Market (Street)" and over time the name has been shortened. Once an industrial area with many warehouses it's now a large area of smart nightspots, hotels, art spaces, loft apartments, and, yes, still some warehouses.Market Street itself is the prominent roadway on the left, leading to the Financial District and central shopping areas. At the very bottom of the picture is the Castro district (formerly known as Eureka Valley) which is a vibrant neighborhood popular with young families, tech workers, an artist community and filled with popular boutiques, bars and restaurants attracting a wide circle of patrons. It is reckoned to be one of the safest parts of the city to be out and about, day and night. |
