| 説明 | This old stone arch bridge at the station Altstätten would actually be of historical significance. But it doesn't even have an official name. A friend of mine who made me aware of this bridge calls it Wideneischbrücke. His grandmother lived right next to it and told once, that her house was named „Zur Wideneischbrücke“, when there was no official street name.However, the Wideneisch neighbourhood has only existed since the 1980s. But the bridge is much older. It can be reliably identified on a map from 1887. At that time the brook was called Widenbach and the area Unterkirlen. And there was also the poorhouse of Altstätten in the area, and today a center for asylum seekers.Unfortunately, the bridge has been disfigured over time.
