| 説明 | As we move out of the Bhaktapur Durbar Square, with my local Bhaktapur guide, back towards the main parking lot where I will find my main driver guide, my attention was drawn to this tiller turned tractor. Nothing out of the ordinary really, as I've seen scores of these in Cambodia and in Laos. But what drew my attention to this is that this rudimentary machines appears to have been retrofitted with a larger engine, powerful enough to haul four Sintex tanks full of water. The fly wheel for the engine actually sits outside the hood of the machine- the new engine definitely appears rather powerful! On a sadder note, do note the earthquake damage on the brick wall in the background. Many locals in Nepal felt that repair works have been painfully slow or non existent largely due to the corrupt local leaders. Had the Royalty still been in power, all this would have been repaired a long time ago, they felt. (Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Nepal, Oct/ Nov 2019) |
