| 説明 | His passenger is posing for a photographer, also on board out of sight to the left. For the most part, Venetians seemed to comply with the closing down of Carnevale, but some brave souls went about in their costumes to the delight of those of us who came there to enjoy the event. This album is posted on 19 Mar 2020 as an antidote to all the bad news about Covid-19 in Italy, and Venice in particular. The photographs were made at what should have been a high point of Carneval. Unfortunately, the day before Shrove Tuesday, Italy shut down Carnival celebrations, including in Venice. For my family's part, we arrived as the full force of the outbreak was just beginning to strike Italy. It was our good fortune to be able see and enjoy our planned itinerary with only one or two cancellations, and to arrive back home in good health.All best wishes for good health go to the Italian people as they deal with the virus.
