| 説明 | Golden Silk is an NGO and silk factory outside Siem Reap in Cambodia. The organisation was founded by Oum Sophea Pheach in 2002, to preserve the ancient traditions of golden silk weaving in Cambodia, and to provide jobs in a country devastated by civil war that ended in 1998. Golden silk is different from the more common silk because the silk is spun from a different species of silkworm. It takes more time for these silkworms to produce their silk, so the golden silk is much rarer than ordinary silk. |
