| 説明 | Above is SEGS Harper Lake, specifically to SEGS units VIII and IX. They are older, pioneering solar thermal power plants that were built in the late 1980s and early 1990s. They use the older parabolic trough technology. While they were once the world's largest, much of the original SEGS complex has been retired or decommissioned due to age and the rise of more modern and efficient solar technology.Below is the Atlantica Mojave Solar Project (MSP), a much newer and more powerful solar thermal facility. It was certified in 2010 and began commercial operation in 2014. It also uses parabolic trough technology, but is a more modern and efficient version. The Mojave Solar Project is located adjacent to the SEGS VIII-IX plants, and the two facilities are separate entities with different ownership and operational dates .Shot during a flight from Los Angeles (LAX) to Newark (EWR). |
