| 説明 | The combination of Nature with rectangular forms is a recurring theme in Japanese architecture. After cycling for two days through hills and rain from Maizuru (舞鶴) to Kyoto (京都), I took a break in the old imperial capital to visit some of its sights. This image is from Tenryūji (天龍寺), a Zen temple on Kyoto's west outskirt district Arashiyama (嵐山). Walking this corridor through well-preserved moss gardens, bare feet on tatami mats was a surreal experience. I could not decide whether I was indoors or outdoors. |
