| 説明 | ... is an English movie that will steal your heart away for sure.... Here's the plot, a group of women in a small village in Yorkshire are all very close friends, see each other every Thursday at the WI (Women's Institute) meeting and are once again forced to decide the theme for the annual calendar they develop and sell each year to raise money for some charity. Last year's theme was "The Bridges of Yorkshire." I think you can see where this is going.... The old girls range in age from mid to late forties all the way to sixty-five for the oldest. One of the younger of the women is in the midst of a personal tragedy. Her husband is dieing of leukemia and she is brokenhearted. The husband is philosophical though and has come to accept the inevitable. On one of the long talks and drives they share together, he tells his wife two things that stick with her. One is women, like flowers, are at their most beautiful just before they wilt and go to seed and the other is the sunflower is his favorite flower, because their faces follow the sun each day as it moves across the sky.Struggling to come up with a theme and aware of all these facts one of the girls sees a "nudie" calendar in a repair shop in town and has a brilliant idea....twelve of them will volunteer and represent each month ... that's right ... in the (gasp) nude and they will have a sunflower present in every picture.The story continues as they go through all manner of turmoil finding someone to take the pictures, but finally they put everything together and the calendar is an instant hit, so much so in fact that the media picks up the story and Jay Leno invites the ladies to the Tonight Show as guests, which kicks off the American sales of the calendar, which eventually puts together over a half-million pounds and builds a new leukemia wing on the Yorkshire Hospital, including a sofa, which was mentioned at the outset as one of the much needed things at the hospital.... The real grabber is, this is all gospel truth and if you buy or rent the DVD and then watch not only the movie, but the special events, deleted scenes and background you'll meet the real "old broads" and see pictures of the calendar.... If while you're watching, you get a feeling of disconnection and feel you're watching the BBC mystery show Prime Suspect, don't be surpirsed.
