| 説明 | 14c Table Tomb in the churchyard on the south side has the effigy of an important woman lying on the top carved out of Purbeck marble. This is supposedly the burial place of the Countess of Warwick who fell ill and died in Necton whilst on her pilgrimage to Walsingham. She expressed her gratitude to the people of Necton by donating some land to the parish. This has a Grade II listing in its own right. The Beauchamps Earls of Warwick were lords of the town, and patrons of the churchLady Isabell, Countess Dowager of Warwick, by her will, dated 1439, gave her tablet with the image of our lady, having a glass for it, to be offered to our Lady of Walsingham, as also her gown with wide sleeves, and a tabernacle of silver, like in the timbre to that of our lady of Caversham. - Church of All Saints, Necton, Norfolk www.nectonallsaints.co.uk/Memorials/ |
