| 説明 | On October 30 1911 the Department of Internal Affairs approved compensation for Gunner Richard Bartlett who was injured while firing a salute during the Coronation of King George V held at Albert Park, Auckland, on June 22. Bartlett claimed £500 which the Department rejected. He was initially paid £97 and 6 shillings for his expenses, and later in 1913, paid a further £180. Cabinet approved his first compensation claim on October 30 1911. Bartlett lost 3 fingers and had part of his left hand amputated when he was injured by his gun backfiring during the salute.
