| 説明 | A sharp-eyed Dunedin constable was nominated for a reward for tracking down a shirt thief on 2 October 1879.George Price was sentenced to 12 months labour for stealing 18 shirts from a shop door, after which he went on the run with his new wardrobe. He possibly hoped to be the city’s best-dressed man but had no such luck. 12 months incarceration seems a little harsh but at least he wasn’t given hard labour.
