| 説明 | At the highest point of Beachy Head were these symbolic graves for someone called Michael, who had clearly jumped to end his misery. For anyone not from England, Beachy Head is probably the most famous place in Britain to commit suicide, with about 20 deaths a year. It taints the place and gives it a strange air. The pub at the top plays relentlessly cheerful songs for example, and there are many signs with the number of the Samaritans.I really can't imagine the standing there, then the falling to you death - we worked out it probably takes 4-5 seconds of falling. The flipside is that surely everyone thinks, Hey I could just do it, and there's a split second where your head goes, Yeah I really could before snapping back. On a brighter note, it's really pretty. |
