October 2018Ilford Multigrade FB Classicover the roofs of Mainz, GermanyThe paper has slipped a little bit during the exposure;)Yellow, orange, green and blue, the colors of the suntrails are very expressive on Ilford Multigrade FB. However, the paper discolors in the most part of the surface, what I don’t like. I had to do an intensive post processing of the scan, to get this black and white look of sky and foreground.I would have liked a crossover between Adox MCC 112 FB and Ilford Multigrade FB. I especially like sky and foreground of the Adox, very detailed and only little colored, not so much post processing needed. But the suntrails are pale and powerless, quite contrary to Ilfort.By the way: When post processing (some of) my pictures, I stretch the brightness value of the color channels, so that they are nearly equal adjusted. The simplest way is to use Gimp “Colors > Auto > Equalise”. This step is basic for my compositions of black and white surfaces and colored suntrails, but doesn’t work the same with every paper.pinhole camera type rectangular tin can |
