| 説明 | This is way too sparse but I think it is a fairer plot of cab trip origins and destinations than the previous one. This one is filtered to exclude any passenger-status transitions where the data points are more than two minutes apart, so that it, I hope, includes only actual pick-up and drop-off points instead of any points where the cab just stopped transmitting data for a while and then came back online with a different status. The overall pattern of the city is still the same, but with fewer apparent drop-offs on the sides of freeways. It still can't be quite right, though, because Yellow Cab headquarters is still too visible. Two spots in Golden Gate Park join what is otherwise mostly a map of neighborhood commercial districts.Looking at this more closely, I think the diffusion theory of drop-offs might actually be true. The concentrations of pick-ups are definitely on commercial streets and many purely residential streets seem to have only drop-offs. It suggests that people get to restaurants or bars or stores some other way and then take taxis home.Blue is where taxis picked up passengers; Red is where they dropped them off.
