| 説明 | "January 2, 1943Dear Dad:I have a few spare moments so will dash off a very brief letter.I received both of your packages and the contents were gratefully put to a good use. Thanks very much for both packages and cards.Yesterday I received a letter from Mother and from one of the postscripts I believe that Aunt Et has passed away. I was very sorry to hear this, but knowing how she must have suffered I can’t keep from believing that it was probably for the best. However, the past year has taught me to look upon such things with detached indifference. Death is inevitable and nothing we can do or say will prevent "From the Edward L.
