| 説明 | I saw marmots! For the very first time EVER! On a hike at Tuolumne Meadows, Doug and I got about halfway up the trail before the mosquitos found us (swat!). It was a terrible sight...we (swat!) were mosquito snacks (swat!) (swat!) . Upon reaching the top of the trail (swat!), I ran into the outhouse (swat!) to escape. Unfortunately, (swat!) we had to go back down the trail (swat!) to get back to the truck, so (swat!) I eventually emerged from the outhouse (swat!) & found Doug, with my camera, photographing a marmot! No WAY! (swat!) A REAL LIVE MARMOT! And I almost missed it hiding (swat!) in the outhouse! He handed the cam over to me (swat!) & I tried to take a few decent shots(swat!) of a male marmot at the base of a rock pile. Then, I saw another marmot (swat!) on top of the rock pile. (swat!) It was a bit smaller, so I'm thinking it was the female. I attempted to take (swat!) a few shots (swat!) of her (swat!) while practically dancing to get away from the mosquitoes. Suddenly, Jr. popped his head out (swat!) up on top of the rock pile. Mom (swat) sat right up and must have (swat!) made a noise, because dad RUSHED to her side (swat) from the bottom of the rock pile, and they attempted to coax (swat!) Jr. into crossing the divide between them. I took this just before (swat!) he crossed over & tried to nurse from his (swat!)mother. It was absolutely adorable. I tried (swat!) my best to get a decent shot of them, but (swat!) the mosquitos won the battle(swat!)(swat!) and it wasn't long before we were RUNNING back to the truck (swat!). Seeing these critters were one of the highlights of my trip. Not only did I get to see a marmot, but I got to see a whole marmot family. Maybe marmots are not that thrilling to some people, but I come from a city, so seeing all kinds of wildlife is exciting for me.
